Happy New Year Peeps.
What a year 2021 had been?
First of all, I would like to thank Edmonton again for your trust in our abilities and knowledge. Thank you for your support through out all this. We love you Edmonton!
Things have been tough for Albertans for a while. I hope that this New Year will bring fresh beginnings, health, happiness and prosperity to all of us living in this beautiful province of Alberta and the country.
In December 2021, Alberta Dental Association & College announced there will be an increase in the dental fee guide starting January 1, 2022. You can find the new 2022 Dental Fee Guide here.
It is an increase in fees a dental office can charge for their teeth cleaning, exams, x-rays, check-ups and of course restorative work. Dental offices in Alberta charge minimum what that fee guide suggests. Some offices choose to charge more. Some charge upwards of 10%.
What does this mean to you as a patient?
- If you don’t have dental insurance, it is simple. You pay more.
- If you do have dental insurance, at 100% coverage, it may mean that you still might be paying out of pocket for the teeth cleaning, dental x-rays, exams. You pay more.
- If you do have dental insurance, with co-pay (75-80% coverage), that co-pay just increased a bit more. You pay more.
How is this affecting fees at Floss Bosses Dental Hygiene?
It is not affecting anything at all.
We are happy to announce that we are keeping our dental fees the same. We know peeps are struggling enough. We know prevention and teeth cleaning, dental x-rays and exams are very important to keep you safe and away from invasive work. Prevention and dental hygiene treatments will keep you away from taking time off work. Keeping you and your mouth healthy is a stepping stone to a healthy body.
Just a reminder. If we do need to refer you to a dentist or other professional, we will forward your dental x-rays. You do not have to have them taken twice.
Our goal is to make Edmonton healthy in 2022, by providing affordable dental hygiene treatments like:
- cavity prevention
- arresting cavities
- gum disease prevention
- non-surgical treatment of gum disease
- laser treatments
- sealants
- x-rays
